Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Store Locator ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app adds a store locator to your Shopify store: a theme block you place on any page and a store list page with a page for each location (through an app proxy), plus an admin area where you manage your locations, import and export them, and choose settings. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your locations and map data

You are responsible for the locations you publish (names, addresses, opening hours, contact details), including having the right to list stockists and their details. Map positions are looked up from addresses with OpenStreetMap Nominatim and may be imprecise; you can correct any pin. Maps use OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and OpenFreeMap tiles; the required attribution is shown on every map and must not be removed. These third-party services are provided by others without guarantees; if one is unavailable, the list keeps working without the map or place search.

Billing

Plans are chosen on Shopify's plan page and billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can change or cancel at any time on that page or by uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

When the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
  • process only the minimum data needed: the app stores no personal data of your customers. Shoppers' positions stay in their browser; place searches are kept only as a one-way hash with a point rounded to about 1 km; rate limits use a salted, daily-changing one-way hash of the IP address;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Shopify as our only sub-processors; place searches are sent without personal data to OpenStreetMap Nominatim;
  • delete all store data after uninstall (shop redaction), and cached place searches after 30 days;
  • help you respond to data subject requests and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
